Betty Ferguson
BiographyBetty Ferguson, a Toronto native living in New York City, became good friends with Joyce Wieland and, together, made several found-footage films. According to Ferguson, her contribution to the work was the found footage she provided, while Wieland decided how the shots should be edited together. Their first film, Barbara's Blindness (1965), was created with footage accumulated by Ferguson while editing other people’s films. It wouldn’t be long until Ferguson began to create her own found footage films.
