Warren Collins
BiographyFilm life began for Collins in the late 1940s as a wedding photographer. The Toronto born artist was introduced to experimental film forms after attending a Hans Richter screening and lecture. in the 1940s. After purchasing a 16mm camera in 1951 he began making his own films and commissioned films. While working at Toronto’s first private animation studio, Graphic Films, in the mid-1950s, Collins met Michael Snow and Joyce Wieland. Collins would film their activities and cast them in his spoof films, and he would assist on their productions.
