John Straiton
BiographyA filmmaker who became active in the Oakville, Ontario film scene in 1964, Straiton made a living producing commercials and advertisements for ad agencies. His own films took up his spare time. His first film, Portrait of Lydia, won the best animation and best amateur film award at Cannes in 1965.
